BISTRO54

Located in the heart of downtown heritage Perth, Ontario, Bistro54 is an authentic Italian bistro inspired by a "Mamas Cucina" style cooking. Housed within the walls of a charming 165 year-old stone building, Bistro54 has been owned and operated by its original husband and wife team since 2005. 

With a combined food service experience of more than 60 years, Nicola and Dave resurrected the longstanding restaurant/cafe tradition at 54 Foster Street by purchasing it as a real estate sales office in 2004 and embarking on a complete renovation to offer Perth its first taste of an Italian bistro. The stone building, originally constructed by a Scottish blacksmith in 1858 and holds the stories and memories of businesses, families and restaurants in downtown Perth from a bygone era. 

At Bistro54, pasta and seafood may be considered our specialties, but patrons will discover much diversity within the pages of our menu, as well as an extensive wine selection to complement their meals. Our wines are chosen with expertise and care, and roam the diverse regions of Italy. Local craft beer is also showcased. We gladly offer gluten free options and are able to accommodate allergy/intolerance for most dishes on the menu.

...and to bring everything together and to offer a familiar face year after year, Bistro54 employs the longest standing unchanged front and back of the house team in the Perth area. Yannick, Jade, Codie, Steacy, Marcela and Coleman having all been team members for over 7 years.

Our Quality

At Bistro 54, quality is our number one priority. Everything is prepared fresh to ensure optimal flavour. Garlic, onions, peppers and mushrooms, meats and seafood are only sliced and cooked after we have received your order. We use only the top quality salts, spices and fresh herbs. Top tier olive oils and vinegars are sourced from the Mediterranean; Italy, Spain and Greece, as are cheese, olives and cured meats.  

Our pasta is made daily in-house from Durham Semolina flour, extruded through brass dies and then during service, cooked per order. Desserts crafted by a born sweet tooth! All of our desserts are created in house and made with the same standard of quality and attention to freshness. No artificial flavours, stabilizers, sweeteners or colours are ever used in our desserts.

Maximum sit down table size is 10. Two floors of dining offering fun and chatty by our open kitchen or soft and romantic in our second floor dining room.

During summer months we offer the casual relaxation of European style outdoor dining.
